Each year, Radio Wave in Blackpool organise a  “bring a pound to work day” in aid of local charities. This year the chosen charity is the Mayor of Blackpool’s “It’s a Knockout” appeal which aims to raise £250,00 to supply children’s MRI scanner facilities at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Jet Set Limousines boss Kevin Hinds said “It’s a very important project and will directly impact on the level of care available to local children and we are proud to be able to assist in any way we can”.

Today, Radio Wave and the mayor of Blackpool will be travelling to local workplaces in Jet Jet’s brand new stretch Hummer Limo to collect the pounds raised at each workvenue. Blackpool, October 8th 2007….when a little bit of history was made by a combination of limousine operators, a very generous general public and lots of assistance from the town of Blackpool itself.

Over 120 stretched limousines, stretched Hummer limos,  4X4 limos, a mayoral limousine, a stretched Ferrari and the Terminator travelled a 2 mile course in convoy to break the Guinness World Record for the longest limo convoy ever. In the process a huge some of money was raised for some excellent causes and it seems that the limo industry has found a new spiritual home on the Golden Mile in the party capital of Europe.

Hundreds of people donated generously to charitable causes to take a passenger seat in the limos as they paraded along the promenade and on behalf of the whole orgainising team, I would like to say a big thank you to all who arrived to support this event so generously.

The total length of the convoy is recorded at 1.3 miles although this is yet to be ratified by the Guinness people so we will wait a little while longer before celebrations commence.  We believe that the American limo industry is a little miffed that their record has gone and may attempt a similar event. If so, we may need to do it all again next year, only bigger…..

With less than a week to go until the worlds largest limo convoy ever, volunteer passengers are needed to fill some of the vacant limos thatwill be arriving in Blackpool on Monday October 8th.

You have the opportunity to ride in some of the biggest Hummer limos in the country along with many other fabulous limos including the world record breaking Ferrarri limo. The convoy has attracted media interest and a number of celebrities are also expected to travel with the convoy.

 As part of the organising team, we are appealing for any interested passengers to get in touch by phone (01772) 436676 or via e-mail. A charitable donation of £25 per head is requested from all passengers in favour of the “It’s a knockout appeal” to raise money for the MRI Scanner facility at Blackpool Vioctoria Hospital.

Jet Set Limousines beat off competition from limo hire companies from all over the UK and Europe to win the title of best European Limousine Company 2007.

Event organisers congratulated Jet Set and told them “You have set a very high standard for others to follow”.

Lancashire based Jet Set Limousines won an unprecedented double at the awards ceremony by scooping the Best Chauffeur title as well.  Kate Bethel was awarded the prestigious title after beating off thousands of chauffeurs from all over Europe to claim the top prize. It is the first time any limo company has ever won both awards in the same year and underlines the sheer quality of the Jet Set Limousines organisation. As if to underline their popularity, Jet Set had two chauffeurs in the final which was yet another first for the industry.

Blackpool will be host to the very first Guiness Book of World Records attempt at the largest limousine convoy ever.

The managing director of Jet Set Limousines is part of the organising team for the “Golden Mile of Limousines” convoy which takes place in Blackpool on Monday 8th October. The convoy is expected to commence at 8:15pm from the Odeon Cinema complex in Blackpool where Jet Set will have at least 6 of it’s limos to add to the expected tunrnout of around 200 limousine ffrom all over the UK.

The convoy will also attempt to raise around £30,000 for the Blackpool Mayor’s Charity and is appealing for passengers who would like to take part in this once in a lifetime opportunity to donate £25 a minimum of £25 per head to ride in one of the record breaking limousines.

The European Limousine and Chauffeur Exhibition takes place at the NEC in Birmingham from Sunday 16th to Tuesday 18th September and will have all the brand new limo models from the worlds leading manufacturers and some of the most exotic limos in the world in cluding the worlds fastest limo (a stretched Ferrari!!!!).

Before an imported limo can be registered, it has to satisfy the DVLA that it complies fully with stringent EU type approval safety tests. In the past,  Hummer limos have been unable to comply with this safety test for a number of reasons and have been registered in many different ways in order to avoid these safety tests.

At Jet Set Limousines, we believe first and foremost in passenger safety and have never looked at skirting these important safety issues. Rather than buy a Hummer that does not fully comply, we decided to work with the coachbuilders agents to supply a Hummer limo which does comply. And last Friday (September 7th 2007), our brand new Hummer sailed through it’s SVA test.

This is exciting news for the whole industry and means that the new H3 Hummer limo will take pride of place as the centrepeice on Krystal UK’s trade stand at the European Limousine and Chauffeur show being held at the NEC next week.

Immediately after the show, we will finally bring the car back to Blackpool in Lancashire where it will join the rest of our limo fleet.

 The vehicle is available for hire from 22/9/07 onwards

The new limo has finally arrived in the UK. Thought you’d all like to see some piccies before it heads off for it’s exterior custom chrome pack additions and safety certificate tests and registration.

Fylde Borough council have issued Jet Set Limousines the first ever liquor licence to be granted to a limo hire company in Blackpool or the Fylde.

Owner Kevin Hinds said, “We are obviously delighted with the news. It’s good news for our clients too as the police have been clamping down on other local limo hire firms. It means that Jet Set limousine hirers can relax and enjoy a drink knowing that they are safe to do so.”

A Fylde borough council spokesperson said ” Jet Set Limousines are the first private hire limo company that we know of to have successfully applied for and been granted a private hire licence and an alcohol licence. We wish all other limo firms in the UK were run like Jet Set who are setting the standards for rest of the industry to follow”.

Jet Set were of course the first local limo operator to be awarded a local authority private hire licence at the turn of the millennium.

Jet Set Limousines has been informed that yet another one of our chauffeurs have been voted in to this years chauffeur of the year finals to be held in September 07.

Clients and members of the public throughout Lancashire and the whole of the UK have been voting like crazy all year for their favourite chauffeurs and Jet Set Limousines based near Blackpool & Preston in Lancashire has been very strongly supported.

There are thousands of chauffeurs throughout the UK but it would appear that the Jet Set chauffeurs are rated most highly by the voting public.

Blackpool based Kate Bethel has received so many votes that she joins her colleague Patrick Cuddihy in the final. There has never before been a company to have 2 chauffeurs represented in what is usually a 4 or 5 person industry final so we are hopeful that one of the pair may win.

Whoever wins it is an unprecedented achievement and we are extremely proud of them both.
